Markham, Ontario
Twelve neighbourhoods, one guide each
Markham is not one market. What a house costs, how long it sits and who wants it changes street by street. Each guide below is written to answer the questions a buyer actually asks.

Not sure where to start?
Three questions narrow the list faster than any amount of browsing. Where do you work and how will you get there. Is anyone in school. Do you want a yard or a walk to something.
You commute downtown by train
Look first at Unionville, Greensborough, Markham Village and Milliken Mills. All four have a Stouffville line station within or beside the neighbourhood.
You have school aged children
Berczy Village, Wismer and Unionville carry the strongest local school reputations and the pricing reflects it. Always confirm the catchment for the exact address.
You want space and a big lot
Angus Glen for executive housing, Markham Village for deep older lots, Thornhill if you are willing to renovate something from the 1960s or 1970s.
You do not want a suburb
Downtown Markham is the only part of the city built to be walked, with towers, restaurants and a university campus on a real street grid.
